Summer at The Wagtail Inn: Sunshine, Wagging Tails & Show Day Fun

There’s something magical about the arrival of summer at The Wagtail Inn. The skies are bluer, the fields are alive with colour, and every step through the long grass feels like a little adventure — especially when you’re sharing it with a bunch of happy dogs!

The days are longer, the sunshine warmer, and the dogs know it. From early morning walkies through dew-kissed meadows to lazy afternoon playtime in the shade, our guests have been making the most of every golden hour. The fully fenced fields are a paradise this time of year — perfect for romping, sniffing, and chasing tails under wide open skies.

We’ve loved watching our regulars and new visitors alike enjoy their countryside holidays. Every wag, muddy pawprint, and joyful sprint is a reminder of what makes summer here so special. You’ll spot plenty of smiley snouts and floppy ears in the photos — pure doggy happiness in full swing!

On the Road to the South of England Show

 

And it’s not just fun in the fields — our team has been busy getting ready for something extra exciting this summer: a trip to the South of England Show in Haywards Heath! We’ve packed up the brushes, leads, water bowls, and treats, and we’re heading out with some of our favourite four-legged ambassadors to represent The Wagtail Inn.

It’s such a brilliant opportunity to meet fellow dog lovers, chat about what we do, and show off the happy, healthy pups that are part of our extended Wagtail family. We’re proud of the care we give — and we love sharing a bit of the joy (and a few muddy pawprints) with others.

Hello, Summer — We’ve Missed You!
