As winter finally loosens its grip and the first signs of spring begin to show, life at The Wagtail Inn takes on a fresh, joyful energy. The days grow longer, the sun peeks out more often, and the countryside around us begins to bloom with colour — and the dogs know it too!
There’s a special kind of magic in the air this time of year. The fields turn a lush green again, perfect for zoomies and gentle wanders, and we all breathe a little deeper with the promise of brighter days ahead.
Fresh Flowers & Happy Paws
One of our favourite springtime traditions is planting flowers around the kennels. We love filling the space with cheerful pops of colour — from bright daffodils to soft pansies and all the beautiful blooms in between. It brings joy to our human visitors and adds a little extra happiness to the dogs’ daily routines too. Everything feels lighter, warmer, and full of life.

Spring Frolics in the Fields
Our fully fenced grass play areas are back to their lush best, and the dogs make the most of every inch! There’s nothing quite like watching them leap through fresh spring grass, ears flopping, tails wagging, noses busy with all the new scents of the season. It’s a daily dose of pure happiness for them — and us.
Come along for some proper countryside chaos as our four-legged guests leap, splash, and zoom through the woods! With spring in the air and the stream full from winter rain, there’s no stopping the fun — muddy paws, wagging tails, and some seriously impressive jumps included. This is what doggy joy looks like, Wagtail-style!

Of course, we couldn’t celebrate spring without some special goodies! Our Easter-themed doggy treat bags are always a hit — filled with seasonal surprises, tasty (dog-friendly) biscuits, and a few extra snuggles from the team. We believe our guests deserve a little something special, and Easter is the perfect excuse to spoil them just a bit more.
